Brentford’s on loan attacking midfield player Alex Pritchard was an unused substitute as England reached the European Under-21 Championships this evening.
The 21-year-old is on loan at Griffin Park from Tottenham Hotspur for the duration of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season.
He was named as a substitute for England’s Under-21 side for the second leg of a European Under-21 Championships Qualifying Play-Off tie against Croatia tonight, Tuesday October 14.
England won the first game 2-1 on Friday and took an early lead when Liam Moore, a former Brentford loanee, scored.
Croatia levelled but Derby County’s Will Hughes scored the winner on the night to give England a 4-2 aggregate victory.
England will join hosts Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Serbia in the finals next summer.
France or Sweden, playing at the moment, will take the final place.
Alex has two England Under-21 caps, earned last month, and three at Under-20 level.
He made his Spurs debut on the final day of the 2013/14 season against Aston Villa, appearing as a late substitute.
Alex spent a short spell on loan at Peterborough United in 2012/13 and the whole of last season at Swindon Town.
He has played 11 games for Brentford so far this season, scoring twice.
