Two Brentford youngsters have been called up to the England Under-21 squad for their friendlies against Czech Republic and Germany later this month.
Alex Pritchard, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, and Liam Moore, on loan from Leicester City, have been named in the squad announced today, Thursday March 19.
The Lions face Czech Republic on Friday March 27 before they host Germany at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium on Monday March 30 building up to the European Under-21 Championships this summer.
England reached the finals with a Play-Off win over Croatia last month to join hosts Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Serbia and Sweden in the tournament.
Alex and Liam will link up with the squad on Sunday, March 22, and will return to Brentford in time for the Sky Bet Championship West London derby against Fulham on April 3.
Alex, who has made 38 appearances and scored eight goals on loan from Spurs this season, has earned four England Under-21 caps to add to three he has at Under-20 level.
He made his first start in an Under-21 friendly against France in Brest in November and played two qualifiers earlier in the season.
Alex made his Spurs debut on the final day of the 2013/14 season against Aston Villa, appearing as a late substitute.
He spent a short spell on loan at Peterborough United in 2012/13 and the whole of last season at Swindon Town.
Liam has won 11 England Under-21 caps and has been a regular as The Young Lions qualified for the UEFA European Under-21 Championships this summer.
The 22-year-old came through the youth ranks at Leicester and was part of the City team that reached the FA Youth Cup Quarter Final in 2011.
The defender has also played for England at Under-17 level, spent four months on loan at Bradford City in 2011.
He made his Leicester debut early in 2012 and has now racked up more than 50 league appearances for The Foxes, the majority in the last two seasons when they won promotion from the Championship and then competed in the Premier League.
Liam has made three Brentford appearances since joining on loan last month, his second spell at the Club.
