Alan Judge reflected on the 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City, a match that the home side grabbed all three points late on as Brentford were pushing for the winner.
“It was possibility the wrong result today but we were off,” said Alan Judge. “I think a draw would have been a fair result today. They were the home team but sat behind and didn’t even put anybody forward. We left ourselves open and conceded two sloppy goals.”
The midfielder was honest in the appraisal of his own big chance of the game in the second half, spurning a one on one opportunity with Blues’ goalkeeper Tomas Kuszczak.
“To be honest it was awful,” said Alan. “I’m not going to put an excuse behind it, it was terrible from me but we still went on to equalise after that. I thought we were the only team that was going to win it in the end.”
The Irishman was also candid in his view of the challenge by Jon Toral on skipper Jake Bidwell, which the Spaniard escaped with a caution when it appeared the correct punishment was a red card.
“It’s a clear red card,” said Alan. “He nearly tacked Jake in his chest. He missed a lot today, there was a clear handball by Caddis, who’s nearly caught it.”
