Club given approval to retain Terracing at Griffin Park

7 March 2017

Match and Season Ticket prices for 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship will be revealed at 11am tomorrow

Terracing will remain at Griffin Park for the 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship season after the club was given dispensation to retain the Ealing Road Terrace and Brook Road Terrace by the Sports Ground Safety Authority.

Clubs promoted to the Sky Bet Championship are allowed a three-year grace period to convert terracing to seating however, in view of the progress being made towards the new Brentford FC Community Stadium and the fine safety record in the terraces, the club have been given dispensation, subject to formal approval from the Secretary of State to maintain terracing at its current level for next season.

Chief Executive Mark Devlin said: “We would like to place on record our thanks to the SGSA board for allowing us a chance to present our case and for giving us a fair hearing. The introduction of seats into terraced areas of Griffin Park would have reduced our capacity by approximately 1,600. This is hugely positive news as this would have had a significantly damaging impact on our revenues and ability to grow our fanbase.”

With terracing confirmed for the 2017/18 season, and the second half of The Bees’ current campaign well and truly underway, we can also confirm that 2017/18 Season Ticket prices will be revealed tomorrow at 11am.
