OFFICIAL RECORD CHANGED TO GIVE DALLAS HIS GOAL

7 May 2014

Stuart Dallas officially credited with Brentford's first goal in Sky Bet League One match against Stevenage

Brentford supporters may have noticed confusion surrounding the scored of The Bees’ first goal in the 2-0 win against Stevenage.

The Bees beat the Hertfordshire side at Griffin Park on Saturday, May 3, in their final game of the Sky Bet League One season.

They went ahead inside the final 15 minutes when Stuart Dallas slotted home a Nico Yennaris cross.

Due to a reporting error in the live text coverage, this goal was given, incorrectly, to Marcello Trotta.

This error was repeated in many newspaper and television reports of the match.

After representations made by the Club, the goal has been awarded to Stuart.

Press Association and Opta have changed the official records to reflect it as Stuart’s goal, his first at Griffin Park.
