Marley Tavaziva joined Brentford B on a two-year scholarship in the summer of 2022, having come through Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s post-16 Education programme.

The strong relationship between Brentford B and the Community Sports Trust has allowed young talents like Marley to step into the professional setup at Jersey Road, training alongside the next generation of Bees players. His journey began in the humble setting of Little Kickerz in nursery, which he recalls as his first footballing memory.

As a versatile player, Marley’s career began with Sunday league football at Hampton and Richmond, before advancing through the Brentford Community Sports Programme and earning a trial with Brentford B. After impressing the coaches, he was rewarded with a place in the squad, cementing his proudest footballing moment – signing with Brentford.

Known for his agile, quick, and comfortable playing style, Marley is admired by his teammates for his ability to adapt and thrive on the pitch. His experience with the first team, including a memorable tour to Spain at the age of 17, has been a highlight of his time with the club. Training alongside Premier League-level players at the Robert Rowan Performance Centre has given Marley invaluable insights, particularly in terms of mindset and approach to training.

Off the pitch, his dream five-a-side team is a mix of talent, including Van Dijk, Baleba, Neymar, and Ronaldo, with himself in goal. Before matches, he energises himself with music from Gunna, Meek Mill, Quavo, and Tems, while his initiation song of choice is Yao Ming by Gunna.

Looking ahead, Marley has his sights set on making his international debut and helping his team qualify for AFCON. His third national team call-up saw him involved in a hard-fought draw with Cameroon, adding to his growing list of achievements. Influenced by his parents, who supported his journey by driving him to games and training, Marley continues to develop his game with Brentford, aiming to offer the club his ball-playing ability and strength in playing out from the back in the years to come.
