An athletic defender, Josh Stephenson joined Brentford B in November 2024.
Stephenson made the move to west London following a successful tenure at Millwall where he was captain of the Under-18s side.
The centre-back wasted little time having an impact with the young Bees, playing a pivotal role in their successful 2024/25 season.
Stephenson was instrumental in the west Londoners' run to the Premier League Cup final, his brilliant individual run through multiple defenders leading to Caelan Avenell's goal in the 2-0 semi-final win over Southampton a highlight.
Stephenson also featured prominently during the Under-21 Professional Development League campaign, eventually raising the trophy after their 3-2 win over Bournemouth in the national final.
Stephenson has regularly been handed the captain's arm band during the 2025/26 season, taking on a leadership role within a new-look group.
He kicked-off 2026 with a bang, scoring a towering header in the Bees first home game of the new year and continued his impressive scoring form with a rocket against an AS Monaco side that featured Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati.
It was a fantastic campaign for the young centre-back, who featured 30 times for Sam Saunders' side, scoring six and assisting five. Stephenson was a rock at the back for the young Bees and won Under-21s Player of the Year in recognition of his pivotal role in lifting the Professional Development League title.
