An imposing utility who can play in multiple positions, Isaiah Powis joined Brentford Under-18s in the summer of 2024.
Following time spent in the Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United youth set-ups, Powis made the move to west London, linking up with the young Bees ahead of their first season in the Professional Development League since the reintroduction of the academy.
Powis gained valuable experience alongside 11 other news scholars playing abroad in the 2024/25 pre-season, featuring in the U18s’ 3-3 draw with Heidenheim U17s and a 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich U17s.
Powis started the league campaign as a midfielder, playing the first five games in the middle, before making the move to centre-back for the next four games, showing his versatility.
He shared his time between the two positions across the remainder of the season, the 190cm athlete enjoying the learning experience that playing multiple positions provides.
Powis earned a call up to the B team in the latter stages of the season, starting in the young Bees’ London Senior Cup semi-final win over Barking.
