Following a successful trial period, defender Caelan Avenell put pen to paper with Brentford B in September 2024.

A member of Fulham's Academy from Under-9s through to Under-21s, Avenell was released and signed with the young Bees as a free agent.

After initially signing a short-term contract with the side, Avenell signed on again ahead of the 2025/26 season, until at least the summer of 2026.

The tough and gritty defender became a staple of the B team side in the 2024/25 season, regularly starting across the U21 Professional Development League and Premier League Cup, as well as tours abroad.

Avenell scored the winner in Brentford's 2-1 win over Allsvenskan side IFK Göteborg during the 2025 Atlantic Cup.

He scored in Brentford's 2-0 win over Southampton in that season's PL Cup semi-final, booking the side's place in the final against QPR.

Avenell also featured in the squad for the Bees 3-2 win over Bournemouth in the PDL national final.
