A utility with the ability to play as a defender and a midfielder, Andre Grey made the move to west London in the summer of 2023.
Grey made Brentford home after spending time at Corinthian Casuals and has since impressed as he graduated through to the B team set-up.
Grey joined 11 teammates in July 2023 as Brentford Under-18s embarked on their first season since the re-instalment of the academy.
After injuries impacted the start of his first season, Grey returned to the pitch in fine form, playing his role as the U18s went on to win the EFL Youth Alliance Merit League 2 title.
Grey’s form to end that season was rewarded with a one-year professional contract and promotion to Brentford B.
Following a strong pre-season, Grey was forced to bide his time when the season started. His first start came in a 3-2 loss to Northwood in the Middlesex Senior Cup, before a strong performance during the young Bees 2-0 win over Redbridgein the London Senior Cup (LSC).
Grey’s first Under-21 Professional Development League start came soon after, as he played 90 minutes in Brentford’s 4-0 win over Bristol City. He went on to feature 18 more times for the B team in his debut season, starting seven games.
His season highlight came during a tense 4-3 win over Bristol City at Gtech Community Stadium. After being substituted on in the second half, Grey found the back of the net with the last kick of the game to secure a valuable three league points for the young Bees.
He finished off his campaign with the opening goal of the Robert Rowan Invitational at the Gtech, Brentford B going on to beat Tottenham Hotspur 6-1.
In his second season with the B team, Grey established himself as a regular starter in Sam Saunders' midfield. He played 2,873 minutes across 42 games, starting 33 of those.
Grey scored four goals and picked up two assists, including a brace against Wigan Athletic and a goal against Derby County in the PDL play-offs Round of 16.
The midfielder played a key role as the Bees went onto win their second-straight PDL title.
