An intelligent ball playing centre-back, Aidan Golding joined Brentford Under-18s from Chelsea ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
Golding had a well-rounded youth career that began at Worcester Park Under-8s before moving to Sutton United at Under-9s and eventually to Chelsea, where he spent several years until Under-16s.
Known for his technicality, composure and strong footballing IQ, Golding is an assured defender who remains calm under pressure and contributes with incisive passes to create chances from centre-back.
Golding is the youngest of three footballing brothers, his older siblings James and Michael playing for Oxford United and Leicester City respectively. On signing with Brentford, Golding described the club as a "breath of fresh air" for its positive and friendly atmosphere.
In the 2024/25 season, Golding started 28 times for the U18s either in the left centre-back or left-back role and displayed his attacking threat by chipping in with four goals across the campaign.
Golding featured prominently for Gary McDermott's U18s across the 2025/26 campaign, often being handed the captain's armband.
He made the step into Sam Saunders' Under-21s too, making his debut in a 2-1 away win over Sheffield Wednesday.
