Brentford's Development Squad go in search of a place in the Quarter-Final of the U21 Premier League Cup as they take on fellow Category Two side Charlton Athletic this afternoon in Flemming Pedersen's first game in charge. The match will be played at The Valley, kick-off 1pm, and takes place behind closed doors.
The Bees' squad will be boosted with the inclusion of the first-team pair, Yoann Barbet and Lewis Macleod. Queens Park Rangers and Category One side Reading have already been beaten on Brentford's way to the Last 16 in their debut appearance in the competition. Standing in their way of a Quarter Final place are a Charlton side who have won 11 of their last 12 matches and top the U21 Professional Development League Two South by seven points: The Bees are fourth in the U21 table with 24 points from their 16 matches.
The two sides met last month and it was the The Addicks who came out on top after a 2-1 victory at Jersey Road, Maxime Colin scoring The Bees.
