Brentford Women’s First Team are in action on Sunday when they face Woodley United in Vitality Women’s FA Cup First Round Qualifying.
The side were due to play this fixture last weekend, but the game was postponed following the passing Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and will therefore now be played this Sunday at Bedfont Sports Club with kick-off at 3pm.
Sunday’s opponents compete in the Southern Regions Women’s Football League, and they have played one game so far this season which they won 1-0 away from home against Eversley & California Ladies with May Hamblin grabbing the game’s only goal.
As for Brentford, they will take confidence into the match having won their last match at the beginning of the month as they beat Whyteleafe 3-0 at Bedfont Sports Club. Kirsty Matthews grabbed the opener on seven minutes before Chloe Logie grabbed two goals on the day.
Entry is free at Bedfont Sports with the match getting under way at 3pm.
As for the Women’s B Team, they will also return to action this Sunday following their postponement last week. The side will have their sights set on a match with Tower Hamlets at Hackney Marshes in a 1:30pm kick-off.
Last time out they got off to a fantastic start to their season as they beat Actonian Thirds 5-0. The goals on the day came from a Kasey Clifford free-kick, Ruby Sumpter, Holly Hawkes, Cheyenne Faulkner and Calli Weaver on an impressive performance from the side.
At both games this weekend, the sides will be paying their respects following the sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen with one minute of silence before kick-off.
