Brentford Women’s First Team take on Sport London E Benfica in a London South East Regional Women’s Football League Division One North clash at Rectory Park on Sunday in a 2pm kick-off.
Following their impressive 4-2 win last weekend against Denham United, Manager Karleigh Osborne is looking for his side to be even more ruthless in the final third against Sport London E Benfica.
Speaking on Sunday’s match, Osborne said: “I’m looking for more of the same, even though we scored four goals last weekend I still think we could be more deadly in front of goal, but I want to see the same intensity and same energy from the girls.”
The Bees go into the game against Sunday’s opposition looking to make it three wins out of three and are eager to continue their goal-scoring form, after accumulating six goals in their previous two matches.
Osborne continued: “We will be coming up against a good team on Sunday, we have had some tough games against them in the past so we will need to be on it right from the off.
“As a team, we need to show why we feel we are good enough to be challenging for promotion and getting the three points on Sunday will definitley be a step in the right direction.”
The First Team’s opposition sit a position below in them in the league in sixth, making Sunday’s game a brilliant opportunity for Osborne’s side to create some breathing space between the two teams in the table.
He continued: “Our league performances this season have been up and down. We have had some good days but bad ones too, so I think now it’s time for us to really show some consistency.”
Our B Team are also in action on Sunday as they take on Hackney Reserves in the Greater London WFL Division One North at Bedfont Sports Club in a 3pm kick-off.
After their emphatic 8-0 victory in their last outing against Luton Town Ladies Reserves, the B Team are going into this weekend’s game with all the confidence they need as they look to put pressure on league leaders Leyton Orient.
Ahead of the match, B Team Manager, Tommy Ryan-Maynard said: “It was a fantastic result against Luton, scoring eight goals against them was brilliant so we are looking to continue our form and take this into our game against Hackney.
“We usually have tight games against Hackney, so we are expecting them to be at the top of their game. If we play like we have been this year then I know we have the quality to beat anyone on our day. I feel that we need to concentrate on how we want to play then we can do great things.”
