Brentford Women’s B Team face Enfield Town Thirds in the Greater London Women’s Football League Division One North at Enfield Playing Fields in a 12 pm kick-off.
After last week’s game against Forest Crusaders Women was unfortunately cancelled, the Bees will be itching to get back to winning ways in the league as they continue their hunt for promotion.
Despite the B Team putting on an excellent performance in their last outing against title rivals Leyton Orient, they left empty handed with the hosts picking up all three points, but Assistant Manager Charlotte Tanner backs her side to bounce back.
She said: “We are really looking forward to the game on Sunday, the players cannot wait to get back out there and show everyone what they can do."
Her side come up against an Enfield Town Thirds team who sit three positions below the Bees in the league table. Tanner goes on to explain the importance of her team remaining focused and preparing well for every game they play.
“We shouldn't be dropping our standards no matter who we face, it's always a tough game against Enfield so we should be ready for a battle.
“I feel that when we play our own game that’s when we are most effective so I’m looking for the girls to get the ball down and play some nice football."
Holly Hawkes has been influential for the B Team this season scoring four goals in six games and feels it is vital for the Bees to gain all three points on the weekend.
Tanner continued: “A win will be a step back in the right direction and I know the girls are hungry to go out and get the victory.”
The B Team have had a good campaign so far and are one of the standout attacking teams in the division, scoring 24 goals in just seven games. Defeats to East London Ladies and Leyton Orient have seen the Bees fall to third place however, making a win on Sunday all the more important.
