Brentford Women’s First Team return to action on Sunday as they face Whyteleafe at Bedfont Sports Club in a 3:00pm kick-off.
After defeat at Dorking last time out, the Bees will be looking to get back to winning ways as they take on a side who sit one place below them in ninth in the table after the first two rounds of fixtures in the 2022/23 campaign.
The Bees got their season off to the perfect start on the opening day of the season as they beat Clapton Community 2-1 on home soil and they will look to record their second win of the campaign when they welcome Sunday’s opponents in a match where supporters can gain entry for free.
Whyteleafe got their campaign under way on 21 August when they faced Sport London E Benfica at home and were beaten 3-1. Another home tie followed last week as they faced Dulwich Hamlet Reserves, but it was a difficult afternoon for them as they were beaten 6-2.
Looking ahead to the match with Whyteleafe, Women’s team manager Karleigh Osborne says he’s looking for a reaction from his side following last weekend’s defeat.
“We need a reaction, and a good one,” said Karleigh. “It’s frustrating for everyone but it’s about how we react because there is nothing we can do about the Dorking game now so we look forward on what we do next.”
Sunday will also see the Women’s B Team get their Greater London WFL Division One North campaign under way as they travel to Actonian Thirds in a 2pm kick-off.
