Will Grigg, currently on loan at Milton Keynes Dons, was an unused substitute as Northern Ireland recorded a memorable win last night.
Brentford striker Will was part of the Northern Ireland squad that faced Hungary away from home in an UEFA European Championships qualifying fixture yesterday, Sunday September 7.
Northern Ireland came from a goal down to win 2-1 in Hungary, their first away win of any description for four years.
Former Brentford loanee Niall McGinn scored the equaliser and set up the winner.
It gave Northern Ireland the perfect start in Qualifying Group F, which also contains Greece, Romania, Finland and Faroe Islands.
Finland and Romania also started with wins.
Northern Ireland’s next games are in October when they face Faroe Islands and Greece.
Will, who joined The Bees last summer after leaving Walsall, has made five appearances for Northern Ireland, three of which have been since arriving at Griffin Park.
He has also played for Northern Ireland at Under-19 and Under-21 level.
Will played 36 games for Brentford last season, 34 in League One, and scored five league goals.
He has played five times for MK Dons and scored three times, two of which came in a remarkable 4-0 win over Manchester United in the Capital One Cup.
