Clayton Donaldson gave his post match verdict to Bees Player after his opening goal sent Brentford on the patch to victory, ending Coventry City’s unbeaten home run.
"I thought it was a good result,” said Clayton.
"Three points away from home in any game is a good result, especially coming here and keeping a clean sheet, it’s a terrific job from the players and the manager.
"We worked hard, obviously coming off a defeat, it’s not always easy, but we showed character today.”
Clayton scored Brentford’s first in the 22nd minute, after Martin Fillo’s diagonal cross to the edge of the box was misjudged by Sky Blues defender Andy Webster.
"I just kept my run, and Martin’s seen me,” said Clayton.
"He’s whipped the ball in; I knew it was going to take a little weird bounce.
"The defender’s missed the kick, the keeper’s come out, and I managed to nick it over the top of him.
"I could have had a few more today actually, I had a few decent chances, the keeper for them did quite well, came out quite quickly.”
The front pairing of Clayton and Will Grigg worked hard to stifle Coventry's set plan of playing out from the back.
"It was to stop the midfielders, like Fleck and their number six [Conor Thomas]," said Clayton.
"You could see they were looking to get them on the ball; as soon as we stood on them, they didn't have another game plan, they went long, and we kept winning all the headers."
Clayton revealed he wasn't content with his current goal tally, having scored four in nine league games so far this season.
"As a striker, you want to be getting more goals, I want to get as many as I can.
"I got one today, could have got a couple more, but I’m always hungry for goals.”
"As long as the team’s doing well, I’m happy.”
