Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler said his team showed the belief and quality they possess as they came from behind to beat Coventry City.
Brentford trailed to an early David McGoldrick goal but equalised before half time through Harry Forrester.
They created numerous chances and won the game with a 94th minute penalty, again converted by Forrester.
It was the first time a Brentford team managed by Uwe had come from behind to win a match.
“The boys did tremendously well,” said Uwe, speaking to Bees Player after the match.
“This is the first time in the 15 or 16 months I have been here that we have come back and won a game.
“This season there has been a massive improvement in that we have come back many times and got draws.
“This time we came back and won.
“This shows there is more belief and more quality in the squad.
“At times we murdered them.
“We played very well, created a number of chances again.”
Uwe hailed Coventry goal scorer McGoldrick as the best player he had seen in npower League One in 2012/13 and admitted his team were a bit nervous after falling behind.
He said his players took control of the game midway through the first half and he believed they would get their rewards.
“Coventry have a fantastic player,” said Uwe.
“In the first half he was the only threat they had.
“I have not seen anybody better than McGoldrick in this league this season.
“In general I think we defended well.
“We started slow and I felt we got a little bit nervous after they scored.
“We needed to find ourselves and we did.
“We came very strong in the middle of the first half, controlled the game and created a number of chances.
“We were unlucky not to be ahead at half time.
“I told the players to continue and we got the reward.”
Brentford could have won the game more comfortably but missed some good chances.
Uwe said he was confident his players would score goals.
“I would be very worried if we were not creating chances,” he said.
“While we create chances, there is hope.
“We will get more goals.
“I honestly believe Paul Hayes will soon score.
“Jimmy Spencer had a positive 15 minutes.
“He has shown me and us that he can be useful.
“It is my responsibility to try and make sure we score more goals.
“I have my eyes and ears wide open.”
Brentford’s winning goal was only the second penalty they have scored in their previous six.
Uwe said he was confident in Harry Forrester to score as he had watched the midfield man and Paul Hayes take them well in training.
“Harry and Paul practice penalties every day,” he said.
“I am watching them.
“Maybe they think I am not, but I am.
“I decided before the game Harry was number one and Paul was number two.
“In the mood Harry was in, I was confident he would score.
“This time I was very confident, I have watched them practice for weeks.
“There is always a difference doing it when it counts.”
The one sour note for Uwe was the reaction of some Brentford fans to the substitution of Paul Hayes.
He called on Bees fans to back the striker when Hartlepool United come to Griffin Park on Saturday.
“I wish our supporters, especially those behind my bench, supported our players even when they are missing chances,” said Uwe.
“You all know which player I mean
“We are all together in one boat.
“I hope on Saturday they will support him again, that is what he needs, what we need.
“We are at home again and we need everybody backing us.”
Uwe hailed the bravery of his players and praised the way they played football against Coventry.
“The way we want to play, you have to be brave,” he said.
“Our supporters have to understand that, at times, we will have a patient build up.
“Our best situations came today when we built up from the back.
“Some supporters would like us to go forward quicker.
“When you want to play, we have to play.
“That means at times we have to be patient.
“My players were very patient today, and very good.”
