Tom Adeyemi said Brentford have been working on being more clinical in front of goal before they head to the south coast to take on AFC Bournemouth tonight.
The loan midfield player, speaking exclusively to Bees Player, said the Brentford players were very disappointed to lose to Leyton Orient last week.
Brentford dominated the game but could not get the crucial goal and Orient scored with their only real effort on target to take the win.
Tom said Brentford could be pleased with how they played in East London but had worked on turning chances in to goals.
“We were very disappointed after losing to Leyton Orient,” said Tom.
“We felt over the course of the game we were by far the better team.
“We played some great football but couldn’t do the important thing; put the ball in the net.
“We were frustrated in that respect, pleased with the way we played but disappointed with the result.
“If you play well throughout the season you will win more games than not.
“We need to be more clinical in front of goal.
“That is something we have been working on since then, and before.
“Hopefully we can put it right.
“We have shown we can create chances, we have to put them away.
“It’s something we have been working on.”
Tom said Brentford will face a Bournemouth side who have similar aspirations to their own.
He said The Bees would not head south to defend.
“They are similar to us in terms of their aspirations and the way they play,” said the midfield player.
“It will be a really competitive game but one we feel we can come out on top in.
“You have to play to your strengths, ours are in dictating play.
“I don’t think we will go away, sit in and let the opposition take the game to us.
“After the disappointing result the other night, it would be great to go out and get three points on the board away from home.”
Tom has appeared as a substitute in Brentford’s last two npower League One games.
He has also played for Brentford’s Development Squad against Bristol City and Colchester United and he said he feels ready for a First Team start if needed.
He played against Colchester on Friday and scored in a 6-0 win after playing against Orient just hours earlier.
“I only played 45 minutes,” said Tom.
“I had played the day before and maybe it would have been too much for my legs.
“It was pleasing that we got a good result, I played well and got a goal as well.
“Any game of football will have people watching.
“The Manager was watching so it was a chance to impress.
“It was good to get the minutes in for the fitness.
“It was tough to play twice in two days.
“I found it hard to get my legs going for the first 15 minutes but once I got my legs going I felt I got in to it.
“Physically I came through it fine.
“I feel I am ready to play when needed.”
