Brentford's Josh Dasilva said it was "amazing to be back", as he returned to the Bees squad for the 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Emirates FA Cup.

The midfielder hadn't featured since the 3-0 win over Fulham on 19 August, but played 63 minutes for Thomas Frank's side on Friday night.

And Dasilva described the feeling of returning to the squad, as well as how the last few months have been on the treatment table.

He explained: “It was weird being in the [matchday] routine because I hadn't been in it for so long! But I felt relaxed and just focused on what I had to do when I'm on the pitch.

“Everyone knows how it's been for the last three years; going through that again was obviously not the best, but I just cracked on and it was amazing to be back out there.”

Dasilva added: “I've just been so focused on making a difference. Since my injury before, I still haven't got the best out of myself, so that's my aim: to really push and take my game to the next level.

“I’ve had to be patient as well. If it was up to me, I would have been back last month! But you’ve got to be patient because we've got a big second half of the season coming up.

“Obviously I want to play a big part in that, so I've got to just make sure, when my time is ready, I'm ready to take the opportunity.”
