A match that saw his side almost dead and buried with five minutes of the game remaining, eventually scoring two goals to salvage a point.
In an interview with Bees Player, he said: “Credit to my players for the way they fought back in the second half; I felt we started the game reasonably well and were on top of them for 30 minutes until we made an error again.
“It was a good fight back, we didn’t do that very often last season when we were down but overall we should aim for more than one point.
“I think we addressed it the right way in not playing straight, long balls, we tried to play from the sides and had an enormous amount of balls into the box and I think we deserved a point but I’m not happy [with the point].”
Both strikers were guilty of missed chances, and was he troubled by this?
“I would be concerned if we didn’t have any chances; in the first 30 minutes we had a clear sitter from Clayton in front of the keeper.
“They can’t complain about service for sure; second half I can only say well done lads but overall I’m not happy.
“The strikers didn’t follow the game plan; that disappoints me as we’ve worked on that for three days.
“Overall, [it was] great determination from the strikers to come back into the game to make it happen; responding to what I said at half-time.”
With fourteen minutes remaining of the match, Rösler replaced Scott Barron for Jake Bidwell.
“When I made the substitution, we knew Jake is very precise in his crossing.
“In the first half I felt Scott Barron was very good going forward but defensively both goals came from this side.
“On the right hand side we had been defensively very solid but not much going forward; second half everything changed – it was good going forward.
“I felt on the left we needed a momentum so I brought Jake on; he can attack and defend and that’s very important in the diamond.”
New signing Tom Adeyemi made the bench but was denied his debut due to the changing circumstances of the match.
“The plan was to bring him on today for twenty minutes but unfortunately, the way the game went, I couldn’t do that.
“I felt we had to be offensive minded in our substitutions and it worked well.”
