Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler said no-one should expect Crewe Alexandra to come to Griffin Park and roll over.
The Bees have climbed to fifth in Sky Bet League One after winning four straight league matches and extended that to five with an FA Cup with Budweiser win over Staines Town last week.
Crewe are 22nd in the table but Uwe said that was no indication of their potential to upset him team.
Speaking to Bees Player yesterday, Uwe said Crewe had the ability to cause any team problems.
But he added if his team played well, they would be in a great position to win.
“Crewe Alexandra are a very good football team,” said the Brentford Manager.
“If you let them play, they can cause anybody problems.
“We must have learned our lessons over the past few years that this league is unforgiving.
“Every team is a threat.
“Every team can cause us problems.
“We have to look at ourselves.
“If our performance level is high for seven or eight players, we put ourselves in a great position.
“I have to warn everybody, the players and the supporters, that we have to fight for every inch.
“This is not a walkover.”
Crewe have established a reputation as a club with a good academy, developing young players and selling them on.
Most of that reputation was built while Dario Gradi was in charge, in three spells running almost without break from 1983 to 2011.
Steve Davis is now in charge at Gresty Road while Gradi is in charge of youth development.
Uwe said he respected the way Crewe tried to play and expected them to come to Griffin Park and pass the ball.
“I am a big admirer of Crewe,” said Uwe.
“They stick to their philosophy wherever they go.
“They are a footballing team; they can only play one way.
“They try to do it home and away.
“I am a big admirer of that.
“What Dario Gradi has built there is fantastic.
“The club is sustainable; they have a very good academy.
“It is a model a lot of clubs should follow.”
Uwe said the illness that was in the camp last week had gone but some players were suffering with injury.
“There are some players that are not in full training that face a race to be fit for the weekend,” said Uwe.
“The rest of the players are in shape and look good.
“We have had a good week’s training so far.
“There is no more illness in the camp, that is all gone.”
Brentford’s new indoor Academy facility at Uxbridge High School is now almost complete.
Uwe said he had not seen it since it recently but was looking forward to doing so.
“I have not been yet but I will go soon,” he said.
“I saw the building when it was not 100 per cent finished.
“I am looking forward to seeing it.
“I hope we can use it now and again when it is frosty.
“It is absolutely needed to give our Club very good facilities to train.”
Earlier this week winger Stuart Dallas signed a new Brentford contract.
The Northern Ireland international has secured his future at Griffin Park until the end of the 2015/16 season.
Uwe said he had verbally agreed the deal with Stuart before he started a loan spell with League Two Northampton Town and was happy the 22-year-old had kept his word and signed it.
“Stuart is a man of his word,” said Uwe.
“I would not normally let a player out on loan before he had signed a contract but there was an opportunity at Northampton that was too good to turn down.
“We verbally agreed he would sign.
“He is a man of his word.
“It is an important part of his development to be out on loan.
“He got up to a certain level and now needs regular First Team football.
“Over Christmas and New Year, when we have lots of games, he will be a part of our squad.”
