Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler said he believes his team have enough quality to reach the Southern Section Semi-Final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy even without a number of injured players.
The Bees face Southend United in the Southern Section Quarter-Final of the competition tomorrow and Uwe said preparation for the match at Roots Hall had gone well after the team had recuperated from the 1-1 draw against Bradford City in the FA Cup with Budweiser on Friday.
Speaking to www.brentfordfc.co.uk today, the Brentford boss said he would be without a few players for the game.
But he said he was sending a team out that he believed would be good enough to win and everyone at the Club wanted to move a step closer to a Wembley Final.
“Preparation for tomorrow has gone really well,” said Uwe.
“We were without a few players at Bradford – Kevin O’Connor, Farid El Alagui, Tom Adeyemi and Leon Legge have been out for a while.
“Jonathan Douglas and Marcello Trotta were also injured.
“In training today we had two more players who did not make it through the session and have picked up small injuries.
“They will have tests tomorrow to see if they can make it.
“We will be putting out the strongest team we can and have prepared them for the match.”
Uwe said injuries will give chances to other players.
“We want to win the tie and go through,” he continued.
“It will be difficult for us but we have the quality to come through.
“Players who have not played in many games recently will get a chance.
“They will be able to show me and our supporters what they can do.
“They will have a chance to prove themselves.”
