Brentford boss Uwe Rösler says he is expecting a totally different test when his side travel down to the West Country to take on Yeovil Town this Saturday.
The Glovers are League One’s form team, having notched up five wins in their last six league games and a Yeovil victory would move them to within two points of The Bees.
Uwe, speaking to Bees Player yesterday, said he was delighted with the way his side took on board the tactics before the Chelsea game and says that his players must do the same again this weekend.
“I have always said that when we have a week to prepare and train and put elements into our game-plan we have looked very good,” said Uwe.
“In the last two or three months we haven’t really had much time to train.
“It was just preparing for games and resting and then preparing for more games.
“We had an extra day last week for the Chelsea game and we had two sessions on the Friday and the Saturday and I was very impressed with the way the players put that one-to-one work into the game against Chelsea.
“Yeovil will be a totally different game from Chelsea.
“They will be looking to hit the ball long into the channels and they will ask us totally different questions from what Chelsea asked us.
“As a League One club we answered those questions against the European Champions in a very impressive way but now we must talk about Yeovil.
“The questions they will ask us are questions that now and then in the past we have had some problems with.
“We have to emphasise what we are good at on Saturday, but we have to know what we can expect from them.
“There will be no pretty football on a very heavy and deep pitch at Yeovil.”
A victory for The Bees could see them open up an eight point gap over seventh place and Uwe believes it is vital his side do not lost this game.
Uwe believes he has the players in his squad who have the right attributes to get a positive result at Huish Park.
He added that it is important that he picks the best eleven to do a job against Yeovil even if that means making changes from the 2-2 draw with Chelsea.
“Yeovil are five points behind us so this is a six point game regarding the Play-Off places,” said Uwe.
“We have to make sure that we don’t lose this game and when we can win it we will win it.
“We are addressing this the same way we addressed Preston away, Swindon away and we have to make sure that we are very difficult to beat.
“We have to be well organised and brave on the counter.
“We have players with pace, with strength and with technique, so we have all the ingredients we need on a totally different pitch and from a totally different starting point to win at Yeovil.
“I know how I want to play and as I have said before, I won’t select the same type of players game after game because Chelsea asked totally different questions to what Yeovil will ask.
“I need players who because of their characteristics will give us the edge over Yeovil.
“There are so many questions to answer so it is not necessarily about selecting the players who have played for us previously.”
With the January Transfer window closing on Thursday, Uwe indicated that he is pleased with the make-up of his squad as it is.
He said that while he is looking at players he feels there is no rush for him to sign for the sake of signing.
“I don’t think anybody will be coming in now,” said Uwe.
“We enquired about one or two players but we were not in need of bringing someone in during that transfer window because I trust my squad of players.
“I think this squad of players has got us here so far and they have so much potential.
“For me there is no need to interrupt the great team spirit that we have here by bringing someone in just for the sake of bringing someone in.
“When we bring someone in it will be because we need someone.
“We have tried to make one of these loan moves permanent but we are not sure we will succeed.
“At this moment in time we are still looking in one position but that can be done after the loan window re-opens.”
