Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler pointed to defensive mistakes and a lack of belief in the final third after his side were beaten 2-0 by Carlisle United.
The Bees dominated for long stages in Cumbria but were beaten by a goal in each half.
They fell behind when a Sean O’Hanlon header looped over Simon Moore and Carlisle struck a second when Liam Moore lost possession and Brad Potts set up Mark Beck to score.
Uwe said his side were suffering from nerves as they enter the final stage of the season and said his team needed more belief and aggression in the final third.
“I always said the last ten to 15 games would be decisive and we are showing too many nerves at the moment,” said the Brentford Manager, speaking to Bees Player after the match.
“We are making mistakes, even Simon Moore, who has been fantastic for us all year.
“The first goal came out of nothing, a header from 14 metres, that should not have happened.
“The second goal, we killed ourselves.
“But, we have to score goals.
“We have the ball enough, we are attacking, we need a little more belief in the final third, we need more aggression.
“The strikers need to attack the near post.
“The crosses are not always accurate but our strikers have to make a bad cross in to a good one by attacking it and putting themselves on the line.”
Brentford slipped to sixth in npower League One with the loss.
It was the first time they have lost back-to-back games in the league in 2012/13, having lost to Stevenage on Tuesday.
Uwe said his team were still controlling games and needed to retain belief for the final ten games of the season.
“I am disappointed,” he said.
“If we continue like this we will fall off.
“We are showing nerves, we have to keep believing in what we are doing.
“We are not performing as we can but we are still having a lot of the ball and controlling the game.
“I am disappointed to stand here having lost the game 2-0.
“It sounds clear but the game was not like that.”
The first of their final ten games is against Swindon Town at Griffin Park on Tuesday.
Swindon are currently third in League One but Brentford will climb above the Wiltshire side if they win.
Uwe said the match would show how good his side were.
“We will now find out about ourselves,” he added.
“You can’t get tougher than playing Swindon on Tuesday.
“We will find out how good we are.”
