Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler said FA Cup with Budweiser opponents Staines Town have been watched three times ahead of their trip to Griffin Park.
Brentford take their first steps on the Road to Wembley this afternoon when they host the Skrill South side in a First Round tie.
The Brentford boss said his players will know exactly what awaits them when they step out on to the pitch at Griffin Park.
Staines have won through three qualifying rounds to get this far and Uwe said they had some good players.
But he wanted his team to go out and play with a high tempo and attack the non-league side.
Uwe said he loved both playing and managing in the FA Cup and wanted more memories like last season, when Brentford were minutes away from beating Chelsea, then UEFA Champions League holders, in the Fourth Round.
“We have watched Staines three times and we take it very seriously,” said Uwe, speaking to Bees Player earlier this week.
“We have done our homework before the game and given the players an impression of what they will face.
“They have some good players but it is up to us.
“The main thing is going out from the first minute with high tempo on the ball, not slowing it down or trying to over-press, but keeping it going and keeping it simple.
“If we do that and attack well, then over 90 minutes, I don’t think Staines can live with us.
“I have always been a big admirer of the FA Cup.
“I have fantastic memories of playing in the cup.
“Last year we had the highlights, not only for us but also for our supporters, of the Chelsea games.
“People will still talk about that in ten, 15 or 20 years and hopefully we can have a repeat of that.
“We have to get over the first hurdle to give ourselves a chance.
“I told the players that we have to run as much and press as much as we have done in the last four games to win the game.
“If we do not do that well enough and we allow Staines into the game then they can punish us.
“The difference between the divisions on one day is not massive as we showed last year when we were seven minutes away from beating Chelsea.
“Staines can do that to us as well.
“We are addressing this game professionally and if we go out and play high tempo football from the first minute then I don’t think Staines can live with us.”
Brentford go in to the game on the back of four straight Sky Bet League One wins.
The last of those was a 1-0 victory at Crawley Town last Saturday.
Adam Forshaw scored an early penalty and neither team had many chances after that.
Uwe said the conditions made life difficult at Crawley and hailed his players’ determination to get the points.
“There were difficult circumstances at Crawley,” said Uwe.
“It was a very heavy bumpy pitch.
“We got the early goal and we had some good counter attack opportunities but we failed with the last pass.
“We wasted a few opportunities but defensively we were back to our best.
“We were very difficult to beat and everybody worked extremely hard off the ball to deny them time and space.
“Our pressing was very good and Crawley, who are a good footballing side, couldn’t play at all because we were in their face.
“The players showed real determination and desire to win the game and they were rewarded with three points.”
In the last week winger Stuart Dallas has extended a loan spell at Northampton Town until the end of 2013 and Martin Taylor has left Griffin Park to return to Sheffield Wednesday at the end of his loan.
Paul Hayes has also returned to Griffin Park after a loan spell with Plymouth Argyle.
Stuart – who is with Development Squad striker Luke Norris at Northampton – can be recalled at any time now he has been on loan for 28 days and Uwe said he would bring him back if he needed him.
Uwe added he could not guarantee Martin Taylor match time so it was thought best that he returned north.
“We can ran recall Stuart any time and I told Aidy Boothroyd that come December, with the games we have, we will definitely recall him and he will be part of our squad again,” said Uwe.
“Having a player who is absolutely match fit by then with the games we have it is a win-win situation.
“He is doing well and he is getting used to playing games now.
“It is not a highlight like it is with the first one or two games so he has to keep us his performances like at the start of his loan deal. Northampton need him and Luke Norris to climb up the table.
“I spoke to Martin Taylor and told him that he did very well for us.
“He needed one or two games to get up to match speed, which is understandable, but when he did he was reliable and he scored two goals.
“He is a very good pro.
“Unfortunately he got an injury and the team did very well in his absence.
“I told him that I had no reason to change anything now.
“A player of his calibre and age wants to play when he comes on loan.
“He also had a thigh strain so it was best for all parties that he returned to Sheffield.
“I can’t praise him highly enough because he is a top professional and did very well for us. I won’t be surprised if he goes to another club and plays against us in the future.”
