Brentford goalkeeper Nik Tzanev will be hoping to make his mark on the international stage overnight.
The teenager is in New Zealand’s Under-23 squad for the Pacific Games tournament which doubles as qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro and start next August.
New Zealand have won their first two games – against Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea – and play their third in the early hours of tomorrow, Tuesday 7 July.
They will play New Caledonia at 2pm local time, 5am BST.
Nik, 18, is one of three goalkeepers in the Under-23 squad and has three Under-20 caps but has yet to play at the higher level.
New Zealand have already qualified for the semi-finals and Nik will be hoping for his chance.
The winner of the tournament overall will qualify for the Olympic Games.
