A partner of Brentford Football Club Community Sports Trust has picked up an award.
Us Girls Ealing, led by Christie Moloney, won the Us Girls Best Partnership programme award at their national awards ceremony on Monday night.
The Ealing group were chosen for their ladies only badminton development project.
This features sessions delivered by a female coach from partner organisation Muslim Women’s Sports Foundation in a welcoming environment for women to take part in sport.
The partnership has also organised badminton tournaments and a women’s sports festival.
The Trust plans to work with the group in the future and will join forces to stage a festival in the spring.
Us Girls Hounslow run a female-only dance session on Fridays from 7pm until 8pm at Osterley Sports Centre, 120 Wood Lane, Isleworth, TW7 5FF.
Us Girls is a Sport England funded project which aims to get 30,000 young women living in disadvantages areas more active by giving them a chance to play sport in their local communities.
They have just appointed Great Britain’s Olympic boxing gold medallist Nicola Adams as their new presidents.
She attended the awards ceremony along with fellow Olympians Sarah Stevenson and Sophie Cox.
