Ryan Trevitt said he was “buzzing” to make his First Team debut in the Bees’ 3-0 win over Colchester United - but he believes there’s still much more to come.
The 19-year-old, who is a part of Neil MacFarlane's B Team, came on in the 72nd minute of the Carabao Cup clash with the League Two side.
And, despite being delighted to make his first appearance for the club, the versatile midfielder was still mulling over his late effort that hit the crossbar.
He said: "I'm buzzing. I'm really, really happy to have made my debut, even though I feel like I should have scored!
"But it's good to make my debut, I'm really happy with myself, and I have a lot of people to thank.
“I want to thank the First Team staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity, the B Team staff for pushing me up, always challenging me, and making me work hard.
“Obviously my family and my parents for believing in me, my agents, my coach Andy, just so many people to thank and there are many more people I could say.”
He added: “I've put in a lot of hard work and it just shows that it pays off. I’m nowhere near where I want to be, I'm still working so hard and, hopefully, there’s much more to come.”
Ryan is now one of a number of B Team players to have gone on to make an appearance for the First Team, including the likes of Mads Bech Sorensen and Mads Roerslev, who are both current members of Thomas Frank's squad.
And, when asked if his debut was a testament to what the B Team model can do, Ryan said: "100%. I think Neil and all the staff push you so hard, they really instil that work rate in you, and that can bring you a long way. It’s a credit to them, really.”
