Midfielder Toumani Diagouraga spoke after Brentford’s win over Blackpool that saw the team claim back to back home wins in four days.
“We were on the front foot from the start,” said Toumani.
“You could see there was only one team in it.
“Every game we try to get at them quickly, get a goal and not give them any confidence.”
Blackpool changed their formation in an attempt to break Brentford down, but the 27-year-old claimed the team would not change their free-flowing style for anyone.
“We just stick to what we do,” said Toumani.
“We’ve got one way of playing – we don’t really worry about anyone else.
“It’s the only thing you can affect; we believe we’re good enough to win games by doing that.”
He spoke of the frustration of the visitors putting so many men behind the ball, especially after Charles Dunne’s first half dismissal.
“Sometimes, because you need to break them down,” said Toumani.
“The fact that we were already 2-0 up it was easier.
“The sending off changed it for them, after that it was damage limitation.
“They were behind the ball and couldn’t really get out [of their half].”
Sections of the crowd were imploring the Frenchman to shoot throughout the match, as fans were desperate for him to end his 69 match goal drought.
Toumani admitted with a smile that he tried to repay their affection with a goal.
“I got carried away,” said Toumani.
“There was one shot – I took it on my left foot, I didn’t want to shoot but they got to me.
“It’s nice; I’m just trying to be on the pitch and play well and help the team win.”
