Tony Craig described Brentford’s home defeat against Rotherham United as “disappointing”.
The Bees were beaten 1-0 at Griffin Park by the Yorkshire side.
The only goal came from a set piece inside the first 15 minutes.
Tony said he thought Brentford played some good football but couldn’t break down a Rotherham side that were physical but defended well.
“It is disappointing,” he told Bees Player after the match.
“We played some nice stuff but we couldn’t break them down.
“Give Rotherham their due, they got men behind the ball and defended really well.
“It wasn’t our day.
“We knew what was coming.
“We knew it would be physical.
“We stood up to that and had some periods with nice passing but it wasn’t our day.”
Rotherham’s goal came when Mark Bradley arrived late to head home a free kick from the left.
Tony said one of the Brentford defenders lost their man.
He said the visitors deserved credit for the way they defended their lead.
“We had a set back with the goal,” he said.
“Someone lost their man.
“We were punished for it.
“We kept huffing and puffing but it didn’t go our way.
“Rotherham deserve credit, they know their strengths, they made it hard for us and defended well.
“We had a few openings and on another day we could have had a couple of goals.
“It just didn’t go in for us.”
Brentford have two away games in the coming week.
They travel to Peterborough United for a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie on Tuesday and then to Stevenage for their next Sky Bet League One match.
Tony said the squad would analyse the Rotherham match before moving on.
“We will come in tomorrow, look at the match from first minute to last minute and look at our strengths and weaknesses,” he said.
“We will then concentrate on Peterborough and Stevenage.
“Tuesday is a chance for some boys to put a name on a shirt.
“Some people can do themselves some good.
“We have to go on a run; it has to start on Tuesday night.”
