Thomas Frank believes a similar performance to the one that secured a 1-1 draw against Everton would be “fantastic”, but expects a tough test from Crystal Palace on Tuesday.
The Bees were impressive at the Gtech Community Stadium at the weekend despite only coming away with one point, racking up 20 shots and creating numerous chances against the Toffees.
But the Dane anticipates a difficult game when we travel to Selhurst Park.
Talking about the draw with Everton, Thomas said: “Looking back at all our Premier League games, it's not often that we create that many chances. Can we do it again? That'll be fantastic and that's what we aim for.
“We created a lot of chances last time; if we can take just half of them, we’ll be fine tomorrow night, no doubt about that."
When asked if it will be a similar gameplan, Thomas replied: “I think it will be different because Crystal Palace will press more and they’ll be more on the front foot, in terms of them going forward.
“They also don’t play the ball in behind as much, but they do it. And, in the half transition process, they have so much pace and power.”
And Thomas has been impressed with the Eagles under Patrick Vieira, since the Frenchman took over at the start of last season.
They have picked up four points so far this campaign, which included a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.
The Head Coach also highlighted both Ebere Eze and Wilfried Zaha as “exciting” players ahead of our trip to South London.
He said: “I must say that Patrick Vieira, his staff and his team have done phenomenally. They’ve impressed quite a few and they’ve done well again this season.
“They look very dangerous with their pace, power and trickery. In Zaha and Eze, I think they have two of the best one-on-one players in the division. They are very exciting.
“The last two games we played against Crystal Palace, both 0-0, were very tight games. From my perspective, maybe we could have nicked a narrow win,” Thomas added.
“I expect the same [on Tuesday]. It'll be under the floodlights at Selhurst Park, one of the most difficult away grounds to go to in an evening game. We know that.
“We know we're difficult to play against, so I think it will be a very tight game. I don't expect there to be that many chances for them or for us in the game. But I believe in us.”
