A depleted Brentford Youth Team were no match for their counterparts from Swansea City in their final Under-18 Professional Development League Two South fixture before the Christmas break.
Owain Jones put the hosts ahead from the spot in the 20th minute before Kyle Copp added a second ten minutes later.
Daniel James scored a superb individual goal to kill the game off before half-time and there was still time in the first-half for Cameron Greaves to save a Jones penalty.
The Bees were much better in the second-half but James added a second with 20 minutes to go to put the hosts 4-0 ahead.
To their credit Jon De Souza's side kept going and got some small reward in the dying seconds as Reece Cole lashed home a penalty after Josh Bohui had been unpended.
With Tuesday's FA Youth Cup tie away at Hull City in mind Jon made eight changes from last Saturday's win over Charlton and his charges were soon under the cosh.

Three minutes later The Swans took the lead as a bursting Jones run was ended illegally by Ukasayah Wallace and Swansea's skipper picked himself up to squeeze home from the penalty spot under Greaves.
Swansea had been in control of the game before they took the lead but once they got in front they threatened to run riot.
Greaves saved well from Stephen Fallon and Jones before producing a fantastic reaction save to deny Jones his second from close range.
Guppy called Thomas into his first save of the match but The Swans doubled their advantage soon after some sloppy defending from a corner allowed Copp the freedom of the six-yard box to poke home.
The game was effectively put to bed three minutes later as James raced past the Brentford defence and fired high past Greaves from the edge of the box.
The Swans had scored 30 goals in their previous six league and cup games and it looked like they could well be up with the average as they continued to create chance after chance.
Greaves made a great double save from Jones and then Fallon after Guppy had given the ball away in midfield.
Fallon shot over before Greaves denied him and then, with the half almost up, Greaves saved Jones' weak penalty after James had gone over Chris Mepham's trailing foot.
The early stages of the second-half were much like the first-half had been, as the only thing more regular than the small planes landing at nearly Swansea airport were The Swans efforts on goal.
Greaves prevented Ukasayah Wallace putting into his own net from a Jones cut-back and the Brentford keeper then pushed away Copp's header.

Greaves made a great save to deny Latham from close range while Thomas made a regulation save from Makhosini Khanye's free-kick but Swansea did make it four a couple of minutes later as James embarked on another direct run and then left Greaves with no chance from the edge of the box.
Swansea's fourth took a lot of the intensity out of their play as they began to wind down the clock and keep possession in their own half.
This allowed Brentford to play higher up the pitch and they looked much more threatening, eventually getting their reward late on as Bohui was felled in the box and Cole smashed home the game's third penalty to give Brentford the goal their second-half resolve had deserved.
