Sullay Kaikai says he has been made to feel very welcome by his new teammates as he gets used to life at Brentford. The 21-year-old completed a deadline day loan move from Crystal Palace last week after impressing last campaign with Shrewsbury Town in Sky Bet League One. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s trip to Brighton and Hove Albion, the winger said he was enjoying life with Brentford and had settled in well to his first days of training.
“I have settled in very well,” said Sullay, speaking to Bees Player. “Everyone has been very welcoming from the players and the staff. I am enjoying my time so far. It has been a good week. Having the extra week with the international break has been good for me as I have just come back from injury. Having a week of hard training has been good for me and I should be up to speed. I like the way that Dean works with the team and the style of football that they play. Seeing what the lads are doing on the pitch I think it is going to suit my style of play. I feel like it fits me very well. The team likes to play football which is encouraging for me.”
Sullay is in contention to make his debut on Saturday as The Bees head to the South Coast to take on last season’s Play-Off Semi-Finalists Brighton and Hove Albion. As a Crystal Palace player, Sullay admits there is a little bit more riding on the game for him, given the rivalry between The Eagles and The Seagulls, but added that he is looking forward to the opportunity of getting out onto the pitch.
“I am looking forward to the trip on Saturday,” said Sullay. “I am probably going to get a bit of stick but I am looking forward to playing games. I have had a few tweets in from Crystal Palace fans saying that they hope I do well and that I score. It is a big game on Saturday but from what I have seen on the training ground so far I know that the boys will be able to handle it. I look forward to every game as it is an opportunity to improve myself and that is what I am looking to do here.”
