Stuart Dallas said Brentford dominated their Sky Bet League One match against Notts County from "start to finish”.
The Bees beat County 3-1 at Griffin Park on Saturday afternoon.
They went ahead just past the half hour when Clayton Donaldson was fouled and Adam Forshaw converted the penalty.
County defender Haydn Hollis was sent off when conceding the spot kick and Brentford had the game won.
Alan Judge scored either side of half time to seal the win.
County pulled one back late on but Brentford eased to victory.
Stuart hailed the win as a “great team performance”.
“It was a good three points for us,” said the winger, speaking to Bees Player: Match Day Live.
“We dominated the match from start to finish.
“At 3-0 we maybe took our foot off the gas a bit but it was a good, professional performance.
“The team performance was most important.
“At this stage of the season, three points is most important.
“The first ten to 15 minutes we were a bit off our usual pace.
“After that we dominated the game.
“It was a great team performance.”
Stuart started for The Bees for the first time in League One this season, after impressing as a substitute in recent weeks.
He played on the right of the front three but said Brentford Manager Mark Warburton gave him licence to roam.
He said he trusted the Brentford boss to rotate and do what was best for the team and he was ready when needed.
“I only found out this morning I would start,” said Stuart.
“You always have to be ready to take your chance.
“The gaffer rotates the squad and everyone has to be fit and ready.
“Thankfully today I got my chance.
“The way the team plays, we play free-flowing football and he has shown faith in younger players.
“We have a good squad.
“Every player has their own strengths.
“If it comes to Tuesday and I am not playing I understand.
“Three points is most important.
“The manager said he was happy for us to switch, it makes it harder to mark us.
“We switched a lot today and I thought we did well.”
Brentford are second in League One with six games remaining.
They are six points ahead of Rotherham United, who are third.
“We are not worrying about other teams,” said Stuart.
“If we do our thing, we will be safe enough.”
