Stuart Dallas picked up his third cap for Northern Ireland as Michael O'Neill's men picked up a vital three points at home to Finland in their quest to qualify for the 2016 European Championships in France.
A Kyle Lafferty double put the hosts ahead in the first-half as the Norwich City striker, on loan at Turkish side Çaykur Rizespor, moved into second place in Northern Ireland's all-time goalscoring charts behind David Healy.
Stuart was then introduced in the 64th minute as O'Neill's side looked comfortable against The Fins.
The 23-year-old made a number of storming runs down the right-hand side and relieved pressure on the Northern Irish defence.
Finland did however pull one back in the first minute of injury time as Berat Sadik pounced on a Roy Carroll mistake to fire home.
The victory was the Ulstermen's fourth win from five games and means they trail Romania by a point at the top of Euro 2016 Qualifying Group F.
Romania provide Northern Ireland with their next opposition as they visit Windsor Park on June 13th.
Stuart has been a regular for The Bees this season, playing 34 games – 22 of them from the start.
He has scored six goals, four of them in 31 Sky Bet Championship games.
Stuart has been with Brentford since the summer of 2012, joining The Bees from IFA Premiership side Crusaders, and signed a new three-year contract in the summer after ending the 2013/14 season in fine form.
He started six of Brentford’s last seven Sky Bet League One games, scoring two goals.
Fellow Brentford striker Will Grigg, currently on loan at MK Dons, was an unused substitute for Sunday's match.
