Brentford's Northern Irish pair of Stuart Dallas and Will Grigg took part in an international friendly match against Qatar at Crewe Alexandra's Gresty Road today. Both players started the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Stuart Dallas scored for Northern Ireland shortly after the start of the second half, from a ball played in by Will Grigg. Qatar equalised later on with a goal from Karim Boudiaf. Dallas and Grigg were replaced shortly after the equaliser by Paddy McCourt and Liam Boyce.
The match, watched by 3,022 spectators, was played as a warm up for Northern Ireland’s Euro 2016 qualifier with Romania on June 13 in Belfast. Dallas’ goal was the first by a Brentford player representing Northern Ireland since 1952, when Seamus D’Arcy netted against Scotland.
