Brentford get the 2015/16 underway with their first match of the season, playing Sporting Clube Farense this evening in Portugal – kick-off 6.30pm [BST and local time]. It is Marinus Dijkhuizen’s first match in charge following his appointment as Head Coach last month.
His side have spent the last nine days in Portugal at a pre-season training camp, and will play this evening’s fixture before leaving for London on Thursday morning. It is expected that not all of the travelling squad will feature in the game.
Sporting Clube Farense play in the Segunda Liga, which is the Portuguese Second Division. Last season they finished 11th out of 24 sides. Jorge Paixão is SC Farense’s longest serving Head Coach for more than a quarter of a century having been appointed in September 2013.
The match is to be played at the Estadio da Nora, the home of Futebol Club Ferreiras, in Ferreiras, Albufeira. Admission is free.
