Simon Moore said the Brentford squad were “really disappointed” to lose to Tranmere Rovers.
The Bees were beaten 2-1 by the npower League One leaders at Griffin Park on Saturday.
The match only went ahead after more than 150 turned up at Griffin Park just after 8am to clear snow off the pitch and the stadium concourses.
Simon, speaking to The Bees Player Show after the match, said Brentford were delighted the match was on and up for the challenge but could not win.
He said they would look to get back on track when Leyton Orient come to Griffin Park on Tuesday.
“We are really disappointed with the result,” Simon said.
“It was a fantastic effort from everyone to get the game on.
“We were delighted when we found out the game was going ahead.
“There didn’t seem to be much hope, with the weather, but it was a fantastic effort and we are disappointed we couldn’t give them the three points.
“We were prepared to play.
“We couldn’t do everything we wanted to in training on Friday because of the weather but we prepared properly.
“Unfortunately the result didn’t go our way.
“We will take the positives, we have been on an unbelievable run and it’s our first home loss since August.
“We can put it right on Tuesday and get back on track.”
Tranmere scored both their goals on the counter-attack as Brentford dominated for long periods.
They soaked up a lot of pressure and won a penalty late in the first half.
Harlee Dean equalised for The Bees but Tranmere again struck on the break to take the points.
Adam Forshaw, who also spoke to The Bees Player Show after the match, said the visitors came with a good game plan and executed it well.
“We had an idea Tranmere would let us play in front of them,” said the midfielder.
“They came with two solid banks of four.
“We kept trying and making chances but if wasn’t to be.
“In a footballing sense we matched them and, you could say, we are a better footballing team than them.
“But they have a good game plan, it is working for them.
“All the lads have their heads high and we will look ahead to Tuesday now.”
Simon said there were no quibbles about the penalty, conceded by Harlee Dean after Jake Bidwell had missed a header on half way, and no-one was apportioning blame as the defence had performed so well this season.
He said after Harlee Dean had equalised, heading in a Jake Bidwell free kick, he felt Brentford would go on to win and The Bees deserved at least a share of the spoils.
“It was a definite penalty but there is no blame, everyone has been great this season,” said Simon.
“It was a fantastic free kick from Jake; he has a great left foot.
“Harlee is a real presence in the air; he got himself on the end of it.
“We are really disappointed not to come away with something.
“We were really confident after the equaliser.
“I thought we would press on and win the game.
“But we saw why Tranmere are where they are, they punished our mistakes.
“That’s why they are top.
“We threw everything at them at the end and we deserved something out of the game.
“We are still full of confidence; we want to get a run going again.”
Adam added that Brentford deserved something but on some days it just does not happen.
“On some days it is just not meant to be,” he said.
“We kept trying; we kept getting shots off on goals.
“They kept making blocks.
“I don’t think they deserved the win.
Adam continued: “I’d like to say a special thank you to everyone who came to clear the pitch today.
“I’m just sorry we couldn’t give them the right result.
“Tuesday will come quick.
“We will keep playing the way we have and I’m sure we will be alright.
“Everyone is confident we will turn it around.”
