This is the first part of a series documenting Brentford's 2013/2014 season - in pictures.
In early July Brentford's players and staff went on a pre-season tour of Germany, playing two friendly games against FC Einheit Rudolstadt (3-0) and FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt (1-1).
They also undertook a one-day team bonding session as part of their preparations for a new campaign.
On returning to England, they played further friendlies with Boreham Wood (3-1), Millwall (3-0), Celtic (1-2) and Cardiff City (3-2).
The Development Squad began their season with a 3-3 draw with Histon.
