Scott Hogan has been recognised by the Football League for his performance in The Bees 2-1 win over Cardiff City on Tuesday night.
The striker, who recently returned from a long-term injury, scored both goals as Dean Smith's side picked up a fourth win in five matches. The 24-year-old came on with a quarter of an hour to play and took just seven minutes to net his first, reacting quickest after Yoann Barbet has seen his shot rebound off the bar. The former Rochdale man then added his third in two matches, three minutes later, with a composed first-time finish from Lasse Vibe's through ball. Despite a late Kenneth Zohore goal, The Bees help on to extend the unbeaten run to five matches.
Scott's brace saw him selected in the Football League Team of the midweek. The team, published on the Football League website, is drawn from the performances over the previous night's action in all Sky Bet Football League divisions. The full team for this week can be seen here
Scott is the sixth Brentford player to be named in the Football League selection this season. James Tarkowski was included following the 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town on the opening day while Alan Judge's brace against Rotherham United in October and John Swift's double against Wolverhampton Wanderers in February saw them both make the weekly selection. Lasse Vibe was included after scoring twice in the 3-1 win over Bolton Wanderers with Maxime Colin selected four days later after his assist in the 3-1 win over Ipswich Town.
