After their outstanding performance last weekend in the League Cup, Brentford Women’s First Team are back in action on Sunday as they take on Denham United at Bedfont Sports Club in a 3pm kick off. Entry is free of charge.
First Team Manager, Karleigh Osborne, will be looking for his team to replicate their previous win against Newhaven in their LSE Regional WFL Division One North clash against Denham.
Ahead of Sunday’s match the Brentford Manager said: “It was a good performance last Sunday. I was very pleased so I’m looking for more of the same, if I was being extra critical, I would say maybe we could raise the intensity slightly.
“After the defeat to Dulwich, it’s important for us to now get a good run in the league, we need to be more aggressive and ruthless in attacking areas and not let teams off the hook when we have them pinned back.”
The Bees go into Sunday’s game yet to be beaten at home this campaign; Osborne went on to talk about the importance of making Bedfont Sports Club a fortress.
He said: “We’re lucky to play and train on a good surface at Bedfont which suits our style of play, so we need to take advantage of this when teams travel here. At our home ground I expect us to play good, exciting football. It’s important that we have that fear factor when other sides are travelling to play us.”
The First Team’s opposition at the weekend sit a position below the Bees in eighth and will be keen to leave with all three points after not recording a win in nearly a month.
“We know Denham are going to come to Bedfont with that hunger inside them to take away our unbeaten run at home, we need to concentrate on our own game, and I believe when we do this. We are capable of beating anyone,” said Osborne.
