Marcello Trotta said Brentford produced a positive performance in their defeat to Tranmere Rovers.
The npower League One leaders won 2-1 at Griffin Park, scoring twice on the counter attack.
Marcello, speaking to Bees Player after the game, said Brentford created lots of chances but Tranmere defended well and took their opportunities.
“I think we played really well today,” said Marcello.
“We had so many chances.
“Unfortunately, we lost the game.
“Tranmere defended well and took their chances on the counter attack.
“They did well to win the game.
“But we played really well and it was a positive performance for us.”
Marcello said Brentford could still be positive despite the loss.
They fell behind to a penalty in the first half, won after Tranmere broke from their own half, but Harlee Dean equalised.
The visitors again scored on the break in the second half as Brentford dominated after equalising.
“We had good chances in the first half, they just had the penalty,” said Marcello.
“I don’t think it was fair that we went in behind, but that is football.
“We got the goal straight away in the second half.
“But they scored soon after.
“We had a good reaction, we tried to score but it wouldn’t come.
“Sometimes the ball just doesn’t go in.
“They took their chances, we did not take ours.
“You have to accept it and get on with it.
“We created a lot of chances, we can be positive and look ahead to the next game.”
The game only went ahead after more than 150 turned up at Griffin Park just after 8am to clear snow off the pitch and the stadium concourses.
And fans were helping cover the pitch after the match to keep the pitch fit for action.
Brentford’s next game is at Griffin Park on Tuesday when Leyton Orient are the visitors.
“I think it will be good to have another game so soon, especially as we play at home as well,” said Marcello.
“The crowd can help us.
“What the fans did this morning was great.
“They all support us really well.
“It was unfortunate we disappointed them today, hopefully we can do better on Tuesday.”
