If you have just finished Year 11 and are still looking for that perfect opportunity to combine sport with studying, then the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust's BTEC Futsal Programme maybe just for you.
The Trust is offering up to 15 students the chance to play for Brentford FC in the Football League Trust Futsal League and study for a BTEC Level Three National Extended Diploma in Sport. The BTEC is worth the equivalent of three A Levels at the highest grade.
This full time course allows successful students to undertake Futsal training three times a week and supplement it with regular league matches against teams such as Chelsea, Norwich City, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Fulham.
During the education, you will have a chance to study 19 units over two years via an online platform, which can also be accessed from anywhere. The course will come alive for each student as they will be able to relate the modules to the Futsal training and fixtures with subjects such as fitness programmes and coaching modules. To enhance their career prospects, there will be regular work placements giving them an opportunity to experience real life work with experienced Brentford FC Community Sports Trust coaches in a variety of settings.
During the two years, students will also have the opportunity to take their FA Football Level One and Futsal Level One qualifications. Students at the required coaching level may be offered paid work.
Future pathways can include moving onto the Trust's year Foundation Degree, university, scholarships, leisure careers (including work with us) and potential Futsal playing/coaching pathways.
