The Griffin Park pitch is at the latest stage of its renovation in order to meet the first pre-season game on July 16 against Millwall.
The surface was laser levelled, and then reseeded two weeks ago, as part of a scheduled programme of improvements that began on May 28.
As can be seen from the picture, the pitch is already covered in a lush green.
Due to the recent rain and sunny periods, growth is at 3-4mm per day at present with the ground staff cutting the new grass on daily basis.
Before seeding took place, 15mm from the top surface was removed in early, and several tonnes of sand placed over the pitch area.
This sand provides stability to the surface and makes it more resistant to divots, which should make for an enhanced playing surface and drainage.
