Hundreds of fans young and old were at Griffin Park yesterday for Brentford Football Club’s 2013/14 Family Open Day.
On Sunday, July 28, the Club will threw open its doors and invite supporters in to meet the Brentford players six days before the start of the new campaign.
The squad were available for photographs and autographs all over Griffin Park and fans tracked them down at places including The Bees Superstore, which was open and selling the new Brentford FC adidas range, the home and away dressing rooms and The Hive.
Sam Saunders and Toumani Diagouraga were in the Griffin Park Learning Zone – in The Harry Curtis Lounge on the staircase up to Block D of The Bees United Stand – where youngsters, and the players themselves, were trying creative media activities using Apple MacBooks and iPads.
Community Sports Trust coaches were on hand to run skills competitions in the Braemar Road forecourt and the FA Cup was at Griffin Park for sports fans young to pay to have their picture taken with it – photos will be sent to supporters at their homes in the next few days.
Everyone that came was given a raffle ticket and a special prize draw was held.
The winning numbers were:
381 – Signed Brentford FC shirt
850 – A Mascot package for a game in the 2013/14 season
633 – A copy of the 2012/13 season review DVD

The Brentford FC First Team coach, which carries the players to away games, was parked in Braemar Road and supporters could have a look around.
The Bees Travel Club ran a competition asking entrants to guess how many miles the Brentford First Team covered last year to play their fixtures.
The answer was 7,605.6 miles and the winner was Nigel English, from Langley.
