Nick Proschwitz said that the positive atmosphere throughout Brentford as a club made it an easy decision for him to join.
The striker signed a one-year deal at Griffin Park, with an option of a further two years, earlier this week.
The German, who began his career at Hoffenheim before a spell in Switzerland, thinks hard work will be the key to success this season and that is something he is keen to buy in to.
Speaking to Bees Player Nick said he can’t wait to get started at Brentford and help his new club to a successful season.
“I am very happy,” said Nick.
“Meeting everyone from the club was very positive and my thoughts about the season and the club are also very positive.
“I am looking forward to the season and I am very happy to be here.
“I think we have a good squad and a great manager, staff and owner.
“I think we will do very well and everyone will try to work very hard this season to do the best we can.
“Everyone is willing to work hard and to give 100 per cent.
“I am 27 and I want to have a lot of good times in my career and I want to work hard for that.
“That is the club’s philosophy too with everyone trying to work hard and to improve and to be successful.
“I have only positive thoughts about the meetings with the management staff.
“They all have a very clear vision and I am looking forward to working with them day-in and day-out.
“I have only had four weeks pre-season so far so I just need a couple of weeks.
“It is very exciting for me that I have come here and there is a game straight away on Saturday.
“I am positive that we will start with a good game on Saturday.”
After leaving Switzerland Nick signed for Hull City in 2012 and went on to score seven goals in 37 appearances at the KC Stadium.
Having helped Hull win promotion to the top tier Nick spent last season on loan at Barnsley where he scored four goals in 14 appearances but was unable to keep the Yorkshire club in the division.
Nick has experienced life at both ends of the Sky Bet Championship and while he believes that it is a tough division there is no reason why The Bees cannot be successful.
“My first season with Hull City we got promoted but unfortunately last season I got relegated with Barnsley,” said Nick.
“I have been involved at the top end of the league and also fighting for survival.
“It is a very tough league but the teams are quite close together.
“If the team spirit is good and everyone works hard for each other then you can be very successful.
“I am positive that we will have a very good season this season.”
The 6’ 3” striker will bring something different to Brentford’s attacking options this season.
With young talents Andre Gray and Scott Hogan signing from the lower leagues Nick will bring a different dimension of physicality and experience to The Bees front-line.
Nick said he is looking forward to getting going at Griffin Park and showing the fans what he can do.
“I am a target man and I love to score goals,” said Nick.
“Hopefully I can score lots of goals for the club, supporters and team.
“I hope I can show people what I am like in the next few weeks and months.
“I like crosses in and I like playing in the box as a striker but I also like scoring with both feet as well.
“I am just looking forward to the season and showing people what I am like.”
