Saturday saw the debut of ground improvements to the New Road stand in time for Brentford’s match with Middlesbrough.
The concourse area in the North West corner has been widened to ease the flow of spectators and provide more space before the game and at half time to mingle.
Extra toilet facilities have also been introduced.
The planned works were moved forward from this summer as Brentford’s league attendances have increased by around 40 per cent this season on promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.
Commenting on the changes, Chief Executive Mark Devlin said: “We are delighted with the increased attendances at Griffin Park, they are even better than we had first thought likely.
“However, the nature of Griffin Park means that fans have reported queues for both the toilets and refreshment facilities.
“There has been much discussion about what should happen if we were to gain promotion.
“These improvements have nothing to do with what is required to bring the stadium in line with Premier League criteria; we recognised the urgency to improve facilities, especially given the dramatic increase in numbers attending at Griffin Park.
“I do hope that the new set up goes a little way to making things slightly more comfortable for our fans.”
