Brentford Football Club’s new Operations Manager took up his position this week.
Alan Walsh, 36, started at Griffin Park yesterday.
Current Operations Manager Tony Ashley will retire at the end of May and Alan will work alongside him for the next month.
Alan will then take up the position on his own.
Alan comes to Griffin Park having worked as Arena Manager at the boxing and weightlifting arenas at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
He has experience of working at ExCeL Exhibition Centre, in London, where those Olympic events were held, and has also been Event Manager for World Championship boxing contests.
Alan has travelled around the world watching football but this will be his first job working within the sport.
He said: “I am a massive football fan and have been fortunate to visit most of the big stadiums in the UK and many in Europe, including the World Cup in 2002.
"I am looking forward to working within the football industry and after a fantastic successful Olympic year of 2012, I can’t wait to get the champions feeling throughout the Club.
"Working at the Olympics was fantastic and I was proud to be the Arena Manager where Team GB won their final Gold medal of London 2012, and where Ireland won their first and only Gold for 20 years.
"That experience will stand me in good stead for my time at Griffin Park and then the exciting move to the new stadium in 2016.”
